Nikon D5100 DSLR Feature and Specification

Nikon Corporation already announced the release of the Nikon D5100 on 5 April 2011 , a Nikon DX-format DSLR camera equipped with a vari-angle monitor, and a CMOS image sensor and the EXPEED 2 image-processing engine that enable high resolution rendering and rich expression of tones.
Nikon D5100 has a very similar 16.2 megapixels CMOS sensor to the excellent one seen in the Nikon D7000 but loses out on that camera's high-end build and feature-set. So there's no wireless flash control, magnesium alloy build or 39-point AF system but the underlying image quality looks to be the same.

Nikon D5100 offers a host of new photographic and video tools that deliver superior performance and exceptional image quality with surprising versatility.
